About Sharetix

After trying to give away blocks of tickets that would go unused to several events during the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City with little success and a lot of headaches, Sharetix founder Brent Bishop had an idea – what if there was a way to fill the empty seats with individuals unable to afford a ticket by connecting them with event venues or ticket holders generously willing to share them for free? The inspiration for Sharetix was born.

Created in 2010, the Sharetix Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, launched Sharetix, an online ticket sharing program designed to create joyful experiences for underserved individuals in our community. Event venues, local businesses and individuals donate unused or unsold tickets to athletic, cultural and entertainment events. Through Sharetix, donated tickets are distributed to qualified, eligible, local charitable organizations serving at-risk children, single parent families or grandfamilies, senior citizens and other groups who might not otherwise be able to afford the opportunity.

Sharetix does more than fill an empty seat. Sharetix promotes "sharing" among those who have an abundance of tickets that will go unsold or unused. Sharetix stirs the imagination by reaching out to underserved populations who are either overlooked or unaware of the great opportunities that await them. Sharetix turns "missed opportunities" into a chance to experience the magic of a ballet, the thrill of a ballgame, or the beauty of a concert. By sharing a ticket, you share the joy.

Sharetix – your ticket to making a difference.
