The 39 Steps

Four actors. Over 100 characters. One epic story. Step into a world where suspense meets sidesplitting humor in The 39 Steps. This comedic masterpiece reimagines a classic Hitchcock thriller with a hilarious twist, weaving a tale of espionage and intrigue like never before. Set against the backdrop of a thrilling spy plot, the play follows the misadventures of its protagonist, Richard Hannay, who becomes entangled in a web of mystery and laughter. A small ensemble cast taking on multiple roles with lightning speed, creating a comedic ballet that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. The versatility of the performers adds an extra layer of amusement as they seamlessly switch characters, contributing to the play's dynamic and engaging atmosphere.

Sandy said, “We just had so much fun with the play. For me, the best part was that our 11 year old wasn't sure he wanted to go, and at the end, asked me why we did not do more fun things like this. It was a very enjoyable and much needed time as a family.”

Lachlan wrote, “I had so much fun at 39 Steps. The actors were hilarious! They kept cracking me up with their funny lines and sounds they’d make. I even got to sit in the front row! Thank you!”

Warren said,  “I took my young, 18 years old, CASA with me and he had a great time...what was really great as that the young cast members, still in costume, were in the lobby as we left the theater and Daron was so excited to talk with them; it was the best end to a really great evening.”

Morgan said, “It was the first time the younger kids had ever been to a play. Their amazement at people being on stage and the audience reacting was unforgettable. They were blown away at plays being a thing.”

Alena said the best part was “spending time together at an event that was fun to watch.”

Jennifer said, “The play was so good! Even my 13-year-old son loved it. Very well done and entertaining.”

Jill shared, “my son needed to watch a play for a school assignment, and my mom loves Alfred Hitchcock. The show was hilarious and well done. It was so fun to get out and do something.”

Thanks Sandy Arts for a fun night of comedy.
