Becoming Jane
The new special exhibit at the NHMU opened in December and is well worth the visit. Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall is a hands-on, transportive multimedia exhibition that celebrates Dr. Goodall’s extraordinary life and work. Our recipients explored Dr. Goodall’s early years through iconic images and a multiscreen experience and an immersive projection of Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National Park where she did her famous behavioral research on chimps. Thanks NHMU for making these outreach tickets available.
Here are some of the comments from our Sharetix recipients following their visit:
The best part was… “spending time with friend and chimps.” - Olin
The best part was… “learning about history.” - Luis
“Reading Dr. Goodall's letters on the ship to Kenya.” - Meredith
“I enjoyed learning of Dr. Goodall's knowledge about chimps. I liked watching the videos and hearing the different chimp noises. Specifically that they have a particular sound for when they warn others that they see a snake.”- Natalee
“The kiddos loved to see the dinosaur section and were amazed by all the theories of their extinction, most of which was new to them. Also, the new "Becoming Jane" section is adorable and the kids liked the interactive screen of mimicking the chimpanzee sounds. “ - Holly
