Tchaikovsky’s The Tempest
It was a night centered around the allure of the sea as the Utah Symphony presented a program rich with water themes. Starting with The Tempest, Tchaikovsky’s symphonic narration of Shakespeare’s play and the ocean’s tumultuous beauty followed by Shostakovich’s Second Piano Concerto. We “set sail” through Britten’s Four Sea Interludes from the opera Peter Grimes and finished the evening with a suite from Korngold’s majestic score for The Sea Hawk. As one of our Sharetix recipients, Matthew, reported back, “the music was amazing.” Thank you Utah Symphony for a wonderful evening of music.
