Ani DiFranco is a Grammy-winning American singer-songwriter and feminist icon. Widely considered the pioneer of the DIY music movement, she founded Righteous Babe Records in 1990 to maintain creative control over her career. Her folk and punk-infused music spans over 20 albums. Known for her fiercely independent business model, poignant lyricism, and blending of genres—including folk, punk, funk, and jazz—she has built a dedicated grassroots following.
