Orli Shaham Plays Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2

WAGNER: “Prelude” and “Liebestod” from Tristan and Isolde
CHOPIN: Piano Concerto No. 2
DVORÁK: Symphony No. 7

ABOUT THE SHOW:

With its lovesick slow movement and infectious finale, Chopin’s 2nd Concerto confirmed him as the ultimate pianists’ pianist. Experience the emotional bookends of Wagner’s doomed love story, complete with the famous “Tristan chord” that shocked the music world. Dvorák hoped his 7th Symphony would “make a stir in the world” in 1884, but it would be many years before it would be recognized as his greatest.
