Red Butte Garden & Arboretum Outdoor Concert Series Presents Gov’t Mule Summer Tour 2026. Gov't Mule (pronounced "Government Mule") is a prominent American Southern rock  and jam band. Formed in 1994, the group was originally created as a side project by Allman Brothers Band members Warren Haynes (vocals, guitar) and the late Allen Woody (bass), alongside drummer Matt Abts. The current roster includes Warren Haynes (Vocals, Guitar), Matt Abts (Drums), Danny Louis (Keyboards, Guitar, Backing Vocals) and Kevin Scott (Bass). Originally conceived to pay homage to the classic, improvisational power trios of the late 1960s (like Cream and The Jimi Hendrix Experience), Gov't Mule has since grown into a massive force in the music industry, releasing over 20 studio and live albums. Their genre-bending sound freely merges rock, blues, jazz, funk, and Southern rock.
